Your questions, answered
You may have heard about the importance of early intervention - this is because when we can address potential issues early, it gives your child support and a better chance at long-term positive outcomes. The longer a speech delay or disorder goes unaddressed, the more difficulty a child may experience in 'catching up.'

Email is our primary mode of communication, but if you would like to have phone call to discuss your child, please email me to schedule a time – I don’t want to miss your call!

Please note that due to a high volume of calls, voicemail is not regularly monitored.
In-person sessions are held in your home, and can be requested if you live in New Westminster or neighbouring Burnaby. You may request a community location, please inquire for more details.
Virtual sessions are held on a secure web-based video-conferencing app.
Yes! It is a pleasure to collaborate with your child's team; this benefits everyone!
We may decide to pursue a variety of collaboration opportunities during our time together. For example: you may wish to have your SLP present at IEP meetings or a Kindergarten transition meeting. You may request an overlap or co-treatment session with one or more professionals. We can connect via phone or email, and it is common to schedule meetings for team members to check in with each other.
Payment can be made via e-transfer or credit card.
Private speech-language pathology services are not covered by MSP.
If you have extended health insurance, you may have coverage for SLP services. Unfortunately, I don’t provide direct billing to insurance companies at this time.
You can submit to your payment receipts to your insurance provider to make a claim.
If you have Autism Funding or are approved for At-Home Program funding, we can bill directly to these programs if your child has been approved. Please inform of your funding source so that we can make sure to submit any necessary paperwork before starting our sessions.
Yes, there is a late cancellation policy for sessions. When you book an appointment, you are holding a space on the calendar that is no longer available to other families.
Please give as much notice as possible when cancelling sessions or planning vacations.
NO. It is against our illness policy to have an in-person session if your child has symptoms of illness. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in cancellation of your session. Please cancel the session if your child is sick, or you may request to switch to a virtual session instead.
Nope! If you have concerns about speech and language skills, you can self-refer by contacting an SLP directly.
Neurodiversity affirming therapy means we respect your child for who they are and we build skills in a way that supports their communication, autonomy, and confidence. We focus on functional goals that matter in real life, like self advocacy, getting needs met, connecting with others, and participating in school and home routines. We do not work toward goals that require masking or forcing a child to act “more typical.” Instead, we partner with families to support communication in ways that feel safe, empowering, and authentic.
